PBA 2025-26 WINTER LEAGUE TRYOUT INFORMATION

6TH, 7th, 8TH GRADE GIRLS & BOYS!

The Poolesville Basketball Association (PBA) will be conducting tryouts October 27th and 28th for the Girls and Boys teams it will field this winter in the competitive and highly regarded Mid-Maryland Jr. Basketball League. See below for league web sites.

NOTE: Tryouts will be held at the Poolesville Baptist Church.

The Poolesville Basketball Association (PBA) will be conducting tryouts on October 27th and 28th for the Boys and Girls teams it will field this winter in the competitive Mid-Maryland Jr. Basketball League.

The PBA will be fielding 6th Grade boys, plus 7th (JV) and 8th grade (Varsity) teams for both Boys and Girls to play in the Mid- Maryland league, plus a 6th Grade Girls team to play in a select league within MOCO. All players within the Poolesville school district, including those who attend private school, are welcome and encouraged to tryout, regardless of ability or experience!

Teams will practice at least twice a week (usually three times a week for JV and Varsity) starting in November and ending in early March. Practice times are TBD but will take place in Poolesville or at Monocacy ES.

The 8th grade (Varsity) teams will be comprised of current 8th graders, plus 7th graders that possess the skills to play for the 8th grade team. The 7th grade (JV) teams will be made up of current 7th graders, plus 5th and 6th graders that possess the skills to play for the 7th grade team. The 6th grade boys will play in the Mid- Maryland league and the 6th grade girls will tryout to play in a select league within Montgomery County.

Mid Maryland League play begins in late November and runs through early March, with practices starting the beginning of November.

VERY IMPORTANT: The Mid-Maryland Jr. Basketball League is considered to be a competitive league. We will be competing against teams throughout central Maryland that also conduct tryouts. Unlike Rec. basketball, there is no guarantee of playing time. Same for the 6th grade select league.

A parent or guardian must attend the tryout with player to complete sign up, but the tryout is closed to parents/spectators.

6-7:30 PM 6th grade tryouts (including 5th graders playing up)

7:30-9 PM 7th & 8th grade tryouts (JV & Varsity)

Girls TRYOUTS: Tuesday October 28th:

6-7:30 PM 6th grade tryouts (including 5th graders playing up)

7:30-9 PM 7th & 8th grade tryouts (JV & Varsity)
